4 Ingredient Pulled Pork
This pulled pork is a family favorite because it's very flavorful, slightly spicy and ridiculously easy to make. The key is using high quality ingredients. I use the tomatillo salsa from Salsa Queen - my favorite salsa company. This salsa is slightly spicy and acidic, which goes perfectly with the richness of pork.
A savory, slightly spicy pulled pork that goes great in tacos, quesadilas, on a sandwich, and more.
- 2-3 pound boneless pork roast
- 1 container tomatillo salsa preferably Salsa Queen
- 1 bouillon cube or 2 tsp chicken stock base
- 1/2 tsp salt
Put roast in crockpot. Pour tomatillo salsa around pork. Crumble bouillon cube around the salsa or put the chicken stock base in the salsa. Sprinkle with salt.
- Cook on low for 7-8 hours.
Shred meat and serve. Add more seasoning if needed.
You can use any type of pork roast. Pork butts and shoulders tend to have more fat, which makes shredding more time consuming because you have to get rid of the fatty parts. Loin roasts don't have as much fat, making shredding much easier, but they are more expensive.
The larger the roast, the more time required to cook until shreddable.
