Write 5 Things I'm Thankful for Everyday
I’ve written 5 things I’m thankful almost every day this month and I’ve absolutely loved doing it. If you’re in funk or finding it difficult to enjoy the simple things in life, I suggest trying it out. On my hardest days, which I have had a few recently - did you know I recently quit my job and it was a lot harder than I expected? Thinking about 5 things I’m grateful for, even if it was as simple as Real Housewives or dry shampoo, really helped me get me move past my anxiety ridden thoughts and just be present.
Read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Even though I had such good intentions, I didn’t read The The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I even bought it on audible thinking that would help spur some motivation, but I still didn’t have the drive. Part of me thinks ending my job was so emotionally draining I just didn’t have an ounce to think beyond the basics. I needed and frankly still need a bit more time before I dive knee deep into business focused reading.
Get My Nails Done
I’m getting my nails done today! It’s funny how once you become a mom YOU come last? I’ve had time to get my nails done, I just haven’t prioritized it.
Spend Individual Time with Each Kid Per Weekend
As I’ve said before, life is such a rat race that I often feel I’m unable to be present and just enjoy my boys. I’ve been in such a go-go-go mentality that before I knew it, my boys were 3 and 1.5 years old. Taking the time to be one-on-one has helped immensely with appreciating their uniqueness and just take in the moment.
Drink Alcoholic Drinks Only Friday and Saturday
I’ve been rocking the ‘not drinking during the week’ goal! Not because I’ve been dedicated and resolute to meeting my goals but because I’ve been under the weather. I’ve been fighting a cold since Phoenix. I finally went on meds, which helped for about a week. Then, Collin got a nasty head cold, which Ian and I quickly got. So, right now I have a nasty head cold that has moved to my lungs. More meds might be in my future.
