I'm a classic recipe searcher. I have spent countless hours scrolling through Food Network, Bon Appetit, and Food and Wine to find the perfect recipes. And more times than I can count, I've found a recipe, written it down so I can come back to it later and forgotten where I originally found it. I still remember one time thinking, "WHERE did that killer blueberry muffins recipe come from? I have to bake it again. I need blueberry muffins in my life." But, after an hour of searching, I couldn't find it. Cue the tears. Cue the desperate need for blueberry muffins in my life.
Cue the need for Yummly.
Yummly Share Button
What is Yummly you ask? It's a recipe platform that allows you to save recipes to your online recipe box. But it does more than that, it suggests recipes based on your preferences, dietary needs, allergies and more. It basically suggests recipes you need and want in your life before you even know it! My favorite part is that I will never lose a recipe again.
Below is an example of the Yum share button. It's below the recipe. If you click on the orange button it allows you to save the recipe to your recipe box, so you won't have to spend an hour searching for the baked bean and cheese burritos your kids loved and are begging you to make again.
Bean and Cheese Burrito (And Chicken Too)
Bean and cheese burritos don't just have to be for kids. This is one of the easiest dinners you'll ever make. If you want some more protein and texture, I suggest adding chicken.
- 6 medium or large tortillas
- 16 oz. refried beans
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- rotisserie chicken chopped or shredded (optional)
Preheat oven to 420 degrees.
- Line a baking sheet with foil. Spray baking sheet with non stick spray.
Place a tortilla on a plate. Scoop ¼ cup refried beans and place closer towards one end of the tortilla. Add 4 pieces of chopped chicken - if using. Top with a handful of cheese - about ⅓ cup.
Fold up like a package. Place seam side down. Spray the top with non-stick spray.
- Place in oven. Bake for about 7 minutes or until the bottom is crispy. Flip and continue baking for about 7 minutes or until crispy.
Burrito Topping Suggestions:
- Sour Cream
- Hot Sauce
If you're looking at Yummly from a blogger's perspective, you can add the Yum button to your posts, so your readers can save their favorite recipes that you have produced, which is great for SEO and a total win-win if you ask me.
