Parmesan rolls. Yes, you heard me right. Rolls topped with parmesan - Yes please! How can you beat a roll dipped in butter and then rolled in parmesan cheese? You can't. While I love to make my own rolls, I often don't have time. So, frozen rolls are my next best option. There are several frozen roll brands available, but I always use Rhodes Bake-N-Serv.
Keep in mind, this is a recipe you need to plan out before hand. Since the rolls need to thaw and rise, you need to put them in the fridge or on the counter hours before you plan on eating. Directions are below!
Parmesan Rolls Suggestions
If you want to change it up, you can do the following:
9 Garlic Rolls
Melt 3 tablespoons butter, add 1/2 garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt
Dip each frozen roll into butter mixture. Place in baking dish. Cover with plastic wrap until doubled in size - about 4 hours. Spread the rest of the butter mixture on the top of the rolls and bake at 350 for 11-15 minutes or until golden brown.
9 Cheesy Italian Rolls
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup grated parmesan
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Smear the top of each roll with mayonnaise. Dip the top into the melted butter. Place in baking sheet. Top with cheese and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until about double in size - about 4 hours. Bake at 350 for 11-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Who doesn't want fresh out of the oven rolls? These are a bit crisp and cheesy on the top adding some extra fair.
- 9 frozen rolls
- 2 tbsp salted butter
- 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Spray a 9x9 baking dish with non-stick oil. Melt 2 tablespoons butter. Pour parmesan cheese in a small bowl. Take frozen roll, dip in melted butter and then dip into parmesan cheese, covering entire roll. Place in baking dish. Do this process with the rest of the rolls. Evenly spread out the 9 frozen rolls.
- Cover baking dish with plastic wrap. Either leave out on counter for 3-5 hours, so they double in size, or put into refrigerator for 8-10 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake uncovered for 11-15 minutes.
