Chicken Fajitas Sheet Pan Recipe

Chicken fajitas are a favorite in the Shelledy household. Placed in a flour tortilla, topped with shredded cheese, sour cream and lettuce and BAMB you've got yourself a delicious dinner.

While I used to make this chicken fajitas recipe on the stove top, I recently adjusted this recipe to make it easier and just as delicious. Put the chicken, onions, peppers,  oil and seasoning on a baking sheet, cook and then you're done!

Simple and Easy Dinner

A one sheet dinner is my idea of the perfect dinner! Easy and delicious dinners are exactly what I look for regarding dinner ideas. Another great thing about this dinner is the leftovers. They are delicious all week long, so if you enjoy leftovers I suggest doubling the recipe!

Chicken Fajitas Sheet Pan

I love chicken fajitas but don't love standing over a hot stovetop. So, to solve that issue, I combine everything on a baking sheet and put into the oven. This method is just as delicious as sauting and is much easier.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Servings 4

  • 2 chicken breasts sliced into ½ inch thick tenders
  • 2 red bell peppers sliced about ¼ inch thick. If they’re too thick, they won’t cook enough.
  • 1 yellow onion sliced
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • tsp cayenne optional
  • Flour tortillas

Optional Fajita Toppings

  • Sour cream
  • Salsa
  • Iceberg lettuce
  • Guacamole
  • Shredded cheddar cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. In a bowl, combine chicken tenders, sliced bell peppers, sliced onion, oil and seasonings. Pour on baking sheet. If you want to reduce clean up time, line the baking sheet with foil. Bake fajita mixture for about 18-22 minutes. If you’re not sure about doneness, you can cut into a larger piece or measure the temperature. 165 degrees is ideal.
  3. Serve with flour tortillas and fixings.

Recipe Notes

If you want extra fajitas for leftovers, I suggest adding 1 more chicken breast. You can keep the seasoning the same.
